What is the One Stop Shop scheme?

The National Home Energy Upgrade Scheme, commonly called the One Stop Shop, funds a deep retrofit delivered by a single registered provider who surveys the home, designs the package, manages the works and delivers a post-works BER, typically targeting a B2 rating.

A One Stop Shop provider takes a single point of responsibility for the upgrade. They carry out the home energy assessment, propose a package of measures, apply for the grants on your behalf, appoint and manage the contractors and hand back a completed, BER-certified home.

The trade-off is cost. Project management is bundled into the price, so the headline figure is higher than sourcing measures individually, but the coordination risk sits with the provider rather than you.

Typical package

  • Attic and wall insulation upgrades
  • Airtightness and ventilation improvements
  • Heat pump installation with heating system upgrade
  • Solar PV and window or door replacement where needed
