What home energy grants are available in Ireland?

SEAI runs individual grants for attic and wall insulation, heat pumps, solar PV, heating controls and windows, a One Stop Shop scheme for whole-house upgrades, and a fully funded Warmer Homes Scheme for eligible low-income households.

SEAI administers the main national supports. Individual energy upgrade grants let you take one measure at a time, such as attic insulation or a solar PV array, using a registered contractor of your choice. The One Stop Shop route bundles several measures with a single provider who manages design, works and the post-works BER.

The Warmer Homes Scheme covers the full cost of a defined set of upgrades for households receiving certain welfare payments, with SEAI appointing the contractor.

Before you apply

Grant values, eligible measures and home age eligibility change from year to year, so check the current SEAI grant table before budgeting. In most schemes the grant is paid after works are complete and inspected, so you need the cash flow to fund the job first.
